Hi, I'm Rucan — a photographer and visual storyteller based in Germany.

I'm drawn to human connection, the outdoors, and authentic moments. I'm fascinated by light, atmosphere, and the small details that transform a beautiful image into something meaningful.

Travel has shaped the way I see the world. Growing up with Kurdish and Turkish roots, I was always curious about different cultures, people, and places. I wanted to understand what makes every destination feel unique—not just how it looks, but how it feels. Photography became the natural way to preserve those experiences and share them with others.

My journey wasn't a straight line. I studied chemistry, worked in hospitality, and have always been fascinated by both science and nature. Looking back, every step had one thing in common: paying attention to people, places, and the moments that connect them.

I picked up my first DSLR in 2015 and never really put it down again. What started as curiosity slowly became an obsession with light, composition, and storytelling. Over the years, friends, family, and small businesses began asking me to document their moments, and today I'm building a career around creating visual narratives for people, brands and destinations.

I'm constantly exploring new locations, experimenting with light, refining my craft, and searching for fresh perspectives. There's always another story waiting to be told.
